The Kentucky Kid gave it his all until the very end

After his incredible podium finish in Race 1 at the Pirelli German Round at the Lausitzring, Nicky Hayden revealed that it wasn’t all ‘smooth sailing’. “I got pushed a little wide in turn 1 and got roughed up and got dropped back,” said the American Legend.

The Honda World Superbike Racing Team rider didn’t let that stop him though, saying, “I really wanted to beat Tom, I saw the fans and I thought lets give them something, so I tried to push after him.”

Hayden also spoke for the first time about his rumoured return to MotoGP™ in Aragon to fill in for injured rider Jack Miller. “The opportunity is there, there are a couple of things to work out. If it happens it’ll be fun to have a go at MotoGP™ again, of course. We’ll see what happens. Right now, all I’m thinking is doing my best here at Lausitzring and in WorldSBK, which is my home now.”
